Wizards of the Coast revealed this morning that all five Phyrexian Praetors will be receiving Phyrexian-language card styles on MTG Arena with the release of Historic Anthology 5 on May 27, 2021.

The styles will also be available as part of an upcoming Secret Lair drop, indicating that the Praetors may also be getting tabletop Phyrexian-language variants.

The Praetors— Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite; Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur; Sheoldred, Whispering One; Urabrask the Hidden; and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger—are coming to MTG Arena as a part of Historic Anthology 5. The Anthology will be available from May 27 to August 12 for 4,000 Gems or 25,000 Gold and include 20 other cards, like the Command cycle from Dragons of Tarkir (welcome to Historic, Kolaghan’s Command!), Ancient Grudge, and more.

The Phyrexian-language card styles for the Praetors will be available from Arena’s store when Historic Anthology 5 release on May 27. There is currently no word on when the related Secret Lair drop will be sold.

This isn’t the first time Wizards has printed cards with all-Phyrexian text. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite received a variant written entirely with Phyrexian text as a 2014 Judge promo, making Historic Anthology 5 the second time she has gotten the Phryexian language treatment.

A few years later, Wizards went back to Phyrexian text for the Phyrexian-themed Jumpstart booster in 2020, which featured a Swamp with all of its text translated into Phyrexian.

Then, earlier this year, Vorinclex made an appearance in Kaldheim as Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider and got its own Phyrexian-language promo, as well.
