Hello, Podwalkers, and welcome to the Goblin Lore Podcast!

In our thirty-seventh episode, Magic: the Gathering ethnographer Adrienne Reynolds and Hindu pandit and co-host of the Commanderin’ Podcast Shivam Bhatt join the goblins for an extremely deep exploration of how Magic lore and design has handled religion over the years. Through the practices of Judaism, Hinduism, and Christianity, our religious panel also examines whether or not Gerrard Capashen of the Weatherlight Saga was a true Messiah figure, or whether he simply presents a paint-by-numbers “hero’s journey” protagonist in the tradition of Joseph Campbell.

This is not the first discussion of religious ideas we’ve had as a cast, and it certainly won’t be the last, so if you like what you heard, let us know! If you want more of something in specific, let us know that!

We have launched our new Patreon! You can join currently at the $1 “Goblin Bangchuckers” tier, which gets you access to our private Discord server where you can talk all things lore, life, and love with other goofy gobbos like yourself. Additional rewards and tiers will continue to be added, too!

Remember: we’ve reached 400 followers on Twitter and will announce the lucky winner soon! Keep the word of mouth going; at 500 followers, we will do a random prize draw for two lucky followers!
