Wizards of the Coast is partnering with Omaze to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation and grant one lucky winner the chance of a lifetime: the opportunity to design a Magic card.

“Unfortunately, the COVID-19 crisis means that more wish kids are waiting for their wish than ever before,” said Magic’s Head Designer Mark Rosewater. “So I thought, why not round up our amazing Magic: the Gathering community to lend a hand?”

To participate, head over to omaze.com/magic. While no donation is required to enter the competition, donating money will give you additional entries and thus make it more likely for you to be chosen. You can donate $10 for 100 entries all the way up to 2,000 entries for donating $100.

The donation tiers for the Omaze competition. You can still enter without a donation.

“As a special thank you” for entering (and hopefully donating), Rosewater continued, “You’ll also be in the running to win the ultimate Magic: the Gathering experience: the chance to design your very own Magic card to be featured in an upcoming release.” The winner will also have the chance to visit Wizards’ office in Renton, WA, have lunch with the Magic Design Studio (where Mark Rosewater works), and even get to play with an upcoming (secret…for now) product.

“You have a chance to become part of Magic: the Gathering history,” Rosewater concluded. “Go there, donate as much as you can, and let’s help our friends at Make-a-Wish continue to bring life-changing hope and joy to children with critical illnesses.”
