We already knew that Ravnica Remastered would be the first Magic set released in 2024, and we even got to see three retro frame cards last month. But today’s MagicCon Las Vegas previews took it to another level: tons of cards in the retro frame—including all 10 shock lands!—plus anime card styles, and more!

Let’s dive in!

Don’t miss our coverage of the latest The Lost Caverns of Ixalan previews, the new Jurassic Park cards included in The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, the Secret Lair Spookdrop 2023, as well as details on The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth holiday release!

Ravnica Remastered Details

Ravnica is one of Magic’s most popular planes—so much so that we’ve already visited it three different times over nine sets: the original Ravnica block (Ravnica: City of GuildsGuildpact, and Dissension in 2005-2006), the Return to Ravnica block (Return to RavnicaGatecrash, and Dragon’s Maze in 2012-2013), and the finale of the Gatewatch arc “block” (Guilds of RavnicaRavnica Allegiance, and War of the Spark in 2018-2019).

During today’s preview panel, Wizards of the Coast confirmed that Ravnica Remastered will include cards from all nine of the premier sets that took place on Ravnica. But they also revealed that the set will also include “cards set in Ravnica that didn’t necessarily appear in Ravnica-based sets.” That means cards from something like Commander-specific releases have a chance at getting reprinted in the Ravnica Remastered!

Ravnica Remastered Retro Frame Card Previews

I’d be lying if I told you that I was most excited for anything other than the retro frame cards coming in Ravnica Remastered Draft and Collector Boosters. Massacre Girl, Birds of Paradise, Niv-Mizzet, Parun, and Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice—you can do no wrong with Magic’s original frames.

But it gets better—all 10 of the original shock lands (with the original Rob Alexander art) will also be getting printed in the retro frame!

As if that weren’t enough shock lands, they will also be printed in the standard frame…as well as borderless variants featuring previously digital-only art (available in Collector Boosters).

Ravnica Remastered Anime Card Previews

On the other side of the frame and art style spectrum are the borderless anime variants that will be available in Ravnica Remastered Collector Boosters. Check out Tomik, Distinguished Advokist, Fblthp, the Lost, Massacre Girl,Krenko, Mob Boss, and Birds of Paradise!
