Edge of Eternities is being released today on Magic Arena which means its time to start drafting! We have not one, not two, but three guides coming out today to help with your EOE limited play. This first one applies to both Draft and Sealed and is a cheat sheet for instant speed removal effects and combat tricks!
Magic is a complicated game, and it’s already challenging enough to manage all the different outcomes that can come from the current state of cards on the table. But, what about the cards in your opponent’s hand? Those unknowns that could ruin your combat phase are all covered by this cheat sheet.
There are two sides to the sheet. One side is for commons, and the other side is for uncommons and higher rarities. There is only one rare as well that is included with the uncommons. The reason for the rarity split is to help you understand how likely you are to see one versus the other. Commons should absolutely be played around while uncommon effects can be gambled upon.
The sheet is meant to be printed on A5 size paper, which basically means you can print it in landscape mode, 2 pages per sheet, and then fold it in half and have a handy dandy guide that easily fits in a trade binder or notebook.
Once you have a handful of drafts under your belt, you probably won’t need the cheat sheet anymore as you’ll be used to the cards you want to play around when your opponent holds up mana. But for the first little while you may find it very helpful to study or refer to.

Rich Stein (He/Him) has been playing Magic since the mid-90’s when he opened his first Ice Age starter decks and forced his little brother to play with him. Since then he’s successfully failed to ever make day two of a Grand Prix and began writing about the game instead in 2012. He has been running Hipsters of the Coast since 2015.
