Celebrating the fifth year since Magic: The Gathering Arena’s release didn’t quite go as planned for Wizards of the Coast, but even in the face of errors, the game keeps going on. This week has updates on Wilds of Eldraine Alchemy release, the next Festival coming to the game, and details on this week’s Midweek Magic: On the Edge.
Midweek Magic: On The Edge
Midweek Magic events are great ways to test your deck-building skills, and this week’s event brings a fairly unique challenge to the game. For the On the Edge event, you must build a deck from cards released in Phyrexia: All Will Be One, March of the Machine, March of the Machine: The Aftermath, and Wilds of Eldraine.
Limiting players to building a deck from just three sets and a mini-set is a challenge, but if you build around powerful cards like the Adventure Knight Mosswood Dreadknight or even a modified version of the Domain Ramp deck centered around Atraxa, Grand Unifier you could secure your wins that way.
Don’t forget that these events are completely free to participate in and reward up to three prizes for winning games.
Alchemy: Eldraine Drops Next Week
Alchemy releases were on the back burner for a bit, but now they’re back with the release of Wilds of Eldraine. 30 digital-only cards are coming to Arena’s exclusive format and will have a plethora of mechanics that only work digitally, like Seek and Perpetual. The Alchemy: Eldraine cards will be revealed this weekend during the Arena Championship 4 stream, so keep an eye out for their release.
Party Like It’s Eldraine
Two Festivals drop in Arena this week, the first is the Season of Growth Standard event, followed by the Gift Bag Historic event. For both events, players will compete in best-of-one matches to try and get five wins and earn five rewards for each Festival.
