Wilds of Eldraine is live, and it’s time to put your deck-building skills to the test. This week, the Midweek Magic event is having players assemble a deck from cards only from Wilds of Eldraine to compete to earn three rewards before the end of the event.

Midweek Magic events cost zero gold or gems to compete in; they are fun mini-tournaments that give out rewards for each win you get, up to three special prizes. The first two rewards you get are random Rare Individual Cards, giving you either a rare or mythic rare card from across all available cards on Arena.

The final reward is a little cosmetic bundle with anything from a unique card style, avatar, or even a pet inside. The most common drop is the card styles, but if you compete every week, you’ll eventually hit one of the other rewards.

Wilds of Eldraine has only been live in the game for a few days, so you might not have a ton of cards to build a competitive deck. So, let’s take a look at a few archetypes that are fun to build around and a deck that won’t take too many of your wildcards to craft.

Wilds of Eldraine Constructed Rules

The rules for Wilds of Eldraine Constructed are simple: You must construct a 60-card deck made up of cards from Wilds of Eldraine and only Wilds of Eldraine.

Wilds of Eldraine Constructed Deck: Faeries

A well-supported archetype in the format, Faeries are all about playing synergistic cards based around the Faerie creature type, with a healthy amount of control and removal tossed in for good measure.

Obyra, Dreaming Duelist is a fantastic uncommon Faerie to build your deck around, filling the rest of the deck with cheap Faeries and tons of disrupt cards like Ego Drain and Spell Stutter. If you move in a Blue/White approach, you get access to a few more worthwhile adventure cards and cards that let you draw a card when you cast an adventure.

Wilds of Eldraine Constructed Deck: Blue/Green Ramp

Another great pick that feels like it will be very fun to play is a Blue/Green ramp package that capitalizes on the theme of casting spells with a mana value of five or more. This deck takes a few gold wildcards to craft everything, but if you have some to spare, they can be put to good use with this deck.

Bramble Familiar acts both as a ramp spell and a potential win condition with its Adventure side, letting you cheat your stronger cards into play. Up the Beanstalk keeps your hand full by drawing cards every time you cast a spell that costs five or more, while Archive Dragon and Gruff Triplets take your top end.

Midweek Magic events are totally free to join and, unlike many events on Arena, are pretty new-player-friendly. If you’re looking to jump in, the Brawl event starts at 2 p.m. PT this Tuesday and will run until 2 p.m. on Thursday. You can join and play matches on either the Arena game client from your PC or on your phone or tablet on the Arena app.
